Disaster recovery
How much does it cost your business to be down for 12, 24 or 36 hours?
In disasters where all servers disappear - such as fires, floods or human error - it can cost your business dearly if you don't quickly restore your operations. This issue is especially relevant now, when many businesses are relying on their IT more than ever before.
The longer the recovery time, the longer your business will be down.

What is disaster discovery
Disaster recovery is a method of minimising recovery time in scenarios where large parts of a company's data are affected by an accident. It is similar to a backup, but the difference is that it is a snapshot of your company's entire server environment (i.e. server installation, assignment of rights, installation of various programmes, etc.)
In the event of a disaster, the Disaster Recovery file simply needs to be re-established - not re-installed. In practice, this means that with Disaster Recovery you can have your company's IT up and running again within hours - rather than days.
The difference between Disaster Recovery and backup
The essence of an IT Disaster Recovery is that it is an image of the entire server environment. The advantage of this is that the image can be deployed in a short time (a few hours) if the entire server goes down - whereas with a disaster recovery, you have to reinstall the server manually before the backup can be loaded, which can take several days.
A backup, on the other hand, is only a file-level backup of the data. This means that the setup (operating system, applications and configurations) is not included. The advantage of a backup is that it takes a short time (potentially a few minutes) to restore individual files - whereas with Disaster Recovery you are forced to restore the entire server.
Avoid long and expensive downtime
Overall, it is recommended to have both a backup and a Disaster Recovery. This way, your business can quickly restore its operations, whether a single file or an entire server goes down. With both a backup and a disaster recovery, your company will be able to resume operations and production in the shortest possible time so you don't waste a lot of money on lost operations.
With a disaster recovery, your business gets...
A fast way to re-establish your business operations after a disaster
Your data on Danish soil, so your company fulfils all legal requirements such as the General Data Protection Regulation.
Big savings by avoiding lost operations after an accident
Your data on a server in a top-protected hosting centre secured against break-ins, vandalism, natural disasters, etc.
